Frequently asked questions about personalized AI stories
Can I create a personalized story with my child’s name?
Yes — write your child’s name in the story idea exactly as you spell it and the story will use it that way. For an unusual name, add a pronunciation hint like “Siobhan (say: shiv-awn)”; the narrator usually gets it right, though not always.
What ages are personalized kids’ stories suitable for?
Our personalized stories are designed for children roughly ages 1 to 8. Choose little ones (1–3), growing kids (4–5) or big kids (6–8), and the vocabulary, sentence length and story complexity will adjust to their age.
How long does it take to create an AI story for kids?
Usually just a few minutes from pressing Create to receiving a finished, narrated story. You can wait on the order page or come back later; every story is also listed on your profile.
Can I create a calming bedtime story for my child?
Yes. Choose Sleepy for a deliberately uneventful bedtime story with a narrator who gets quieter, or Gentle bedtime for a cozy story that gradually settles. You can also list anything you want left out of the story.
Are the children’s stories AI-generated?
Yes. You describe the story you want, AI writes it, and a natural-sounding voice narrates it. We say that plainly rather than pretending otherwise. The idea is yours, and so is the finished audiobook.
What languages can I create a personalized kids’ story in?
You can create stories in ten languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Polish, Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian and Slovenian. The story is both written and narrated in the language you choose, using a native-sounding voice.
Can I download the kids’ audiobook as an MP3 or use it on Yoto?
Yes. Download the story as an MP3 and play it anywhere, including on a Yoto Make Your Own card. The .purrytale file also opens in the story reader on your own device, with no account and no upload required.
Can I regenerate an AI story if I don’t like it?
Yes. You can create another version whenever you want. Each generation costs credits and creates a new story. Download versions you love before the expiry shown on your order page, because order history is not intended as permanent file storage.
Do I need a subscription to create AI stories for kids?
No. Purrytale uses credits instead of a monthly subscription. One credit equals one minute of audio. Buy the amount you need, use the credits whenever you want, and unused credits are refundable pro-rata within 14 days.
How can I pay for a personalized children’s story?
Checkout is handled securely by Stripe. You can pay with major credit and debit cards, plus supported wallet options available through Stripe in your country. We never see or store your card details.
