Questions parents ask
Can I put my child’s name in the story?
Yes — write it in the idea exactly as you spell it and the story uses it that way. For an unusual name, add a pronunciation hint like “Siobhan (say: shiv-awn)”; the narrator usually gets it right, though not always.
What ages are the stories for?
Roughly 1 to 8. You pick little ones (1–3), growing kids (4–5) or big kids (6–8), and the vocabulary, the sentence length and how much can happen in the story all follow.
How long does it take?
A few minutes from pressing Create to a finished, narrated story. Wait on the order page or come back later; every story is also listed on your profile.
Can I make the story calmer?
Yes. Choose Sleepy for a deliberately uneventful story with a narrator who gets quieter, or Gentle bedtime for a cozy story that settles — and list anything to leave out tonight. Children differ, so read or listen first to decide whether a story suits yours.
Is this AI-generated?
Yes. You describe the story you want, AI writes it, and a natural-sounding voice narrates it. We’d rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. The idea is yours, and so is the finished audiobook.
Which languages can the story be in?
Ten: English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Polish, Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian and Slovenian. The story is written and narrated in the language you pick, with a native-sounding voice.
Can I listen offline or on a Yoto player?
Yes. Download the MP3 and play it anywhere, including on a Yoto Make Your Own card. The .purrytale file opens in the story reader on your own device, with no account and no upload.
Can I regenerate if I don’t like it?
You can make another one any time. Each generation costs credits and creates a new story. Download versions you love before the expiry shown on your order page; order history is not a permanent backup of the files.
Why credits instead of a subscription?
Because nobody needs another monthly charge they forget about. One credit is one minute of audio. You buy a handful, use them whenever, and unused credits are refundable pro-rata within 14 days.
What payment methods do you take?
Checkout runs on Stripe: major credit and debit cards, plus whatever wallet options Stripe offers in your country. We never see or store your card details.
