Welcome to Purrytale!

Story generation and speech generation itself is a fascinating topic and fun area to be creative with. Exploring different voices in different languages and finding out what good narration is supposed to be like, when made by a machine, touches a lot of interesting areas of how audio comes to life and how to make it pleasant. Human speech has tons of variables.

Hearing a good story was always fascinating to me as a kid, the one that you hear, and have to imagine it for yourself. A good narrator can really bring it to life.

Purrytale is a hobby project - pushing the code and gen AI to the limit and trying to make the perfect kid story for every occasion. And not only in English, but also expanding it slowly to other languages too, finding out more about narration in this new languages and what different cultures expect from a good kid story. And at the end of the day, from users feedback (the parents) also what is the effect of each kind of story.

This first month was all about building the base of Purrytale service: the website, the generator and a library of free stories generated by the generator itself. A lot of listening, iterating on the voices across languages and trying to understand what kids actually want to listen to. Gladly also got the first users and seeing the adoption to slowly grow brings a lot of joy and a sense of dedication to improve the service further.

In the coming weeks the iteration will continue adding more features to the Purrytale world.
