The idea behind this story

“Theo discovers a dragon no bigger than a teapot hiding inside his green school backpack — Wisp, with soft moss-green scales, shimmering emerald wings and a tail that ends in a golden tassel. Wisp can breathe only tiny puffs of warm cinnamon-scented smoke and is embarrassed about it, so Theo helps him discover that small flames are perfect for useful little jobs around a cozy bedroom. The little dragon finally curls up to sleep in Theo's blue woolly hat with the fluffy pom-pom.”

That one sentence is the entire input. Purrytale wrote the story, then narrated it. Start from this idea. Change to your desired details and generate your own story.

Theo unzipped his green school backpack, expecting nothing more exciting than a bent math worksheet and half a peanut butter sandwich. Instead, two bright amber eyes blinked right back at him.

Theo froze. "Hello?"

A creature poked its snout out from between a notebook and a yellow ruler. It was a dragon no bigger than a teapot, with soft moss-green scales, shimmering emerald wings, and a long tail tipped with a silky golden tassel. The dragon sneezed—poot—and released a tiny puff of smoke that drifted toward Theo’s nose. It didn't smell like woodsmoke or charcoal at all. It smelled like warm, sweet cinnamon toast.

"I'm Theo," the boy said softly, kneeling on the rug so he wouldn't seem so tall. "What are you doing in my bag?"

The creature gave a low, musical chirp and scrambled onto the desk. "I am Wisp," the dragon squeaked in a voice as thin as paper. Wisp tucked his emerald wings tight against his ribs and hung his head. "I climbed inside by the school garden because I was cold. But you should probably hide your books. Great dragons breathe roaring towers of fire. I can only do... this."

Wisp took a huge, shuddering breath. His round belly puffed out, his wings fluttered, and he blew with all his might.

A single spark danced in the air, followed by a swirl of spicy cinnamon smoke that tickled Theo’s chin.

Theo watched the puff fade into the evening air. "Did you mean to make that smell like bakery day?"

Wisp gave his golden tassel a sad flick. "No. It is useless. I can't roast a boulder. I can't even toast a marshmallow without it taking twenty minutes. Real dragons guard treasure with mighty blazes, and I'm just a teapot with a spark."

"Well, my bedroom doesn't have any boulders," Theo said, looking around his messy desk. "And roaring fire would definitely set off the smoke detector down the hall. But you know what? Small is actually handy."

Theo glanced at his evening chores. On his nightstand sat a stubby lavender candle his mom had given him, its black wick twisted and cold. Theo had lost his box of safety matches under the bed two days ago.

"Look here," Theo pointed. "Can you aim right at that wick, Wisp? Just one cinnamon spark?"

Wisp looked doubtful, but he hopped onto the nightstand. He took a steadying breath, squinted his amber eyes, and let out a quick poof.

The wick caught instantly, blooming into a gentle, golden glow that chased away the shadows around Theo’s pillow.

"Hey, it worked!" Wisp fluttered his wings, making a rustling sound like dry leaves.

"Told you," Theo smiled. "Now, look over here. One more problem."

Theo picked up his favorite plastic dinosaur from the carpet. Its green tail had snapped off that morning during recess. Theo held the broken pieces together, but they wouldn't stick on their own. "If you breathe just a whisper of heat along the crack, do you think it might melt the plastic just enough to mend?"

Wisp tilted his head. He crept closer, very carefully, and blew the gentlest, sweetest ribbon of warmth Theo had ever felt. The green plastic softened. Theo pressed the tail firmly against the body. When it cooled, the dinosaur was completely whole again—sturdy, strong, and faintly scented like an autumn treat.

Wisp bounced twice on his clawed feet, his golden tassel whipping in joyful circles. "I fixed it! A giant flame would have melted the whole stegosaurus into a puddle!"

"Exactly," Theo said, setting the repaired toy on the shelf. "Giant flames are for outside. Small flames are for making things better."

The lavender candle flickered peacefully on the nightstand, casting soft yellow circles across the ceiling. Outside, the dusk deepened into night, and the room grew quiet.

Wisp let out a wide yawn that showed his row of tiny, pearly teeth. Another faint puff of cinnamon curled upward, much slower this time. The dragon's emerald wings drooped until their tips brushed the floor.

Theo looked around for a good bed. A shoebox was too stiff. A sock was too tight. Then he saw his favorite blue woolly winter hat sitting on the corner of the dresser, with its big, fluffy white pom-pom.

Theo set the hat beside the candle and gently hollowed out the center with his hand. "Try this, Wisp."

The little dragon stepped onto the soft knit wool, turned around three slow times, and tucked his snout under his wing. His golden tassel rested comfortably against the fluffy pom-pom, resting like a sleepy feather.

Theo climbed into bed and pulled up his quilt, listening to the soft, rhythmic breathing beside him. "Goodnight, Wisp," he whispered into the warm, spicy air.

The dragon let out one last, sleepy murmur, and drifted off into a sweet, cinnamon dream.
